Questions
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if it's an emergency?
Not sure? Call us. Trouble breathing, heavy bleeding, poisoning, being hit by a car, a swollen belly or a pet that can't pee are always emergencies.
What if my pet ate something poisonous?
Call straight away and bring the packaging. Don't make your pet vomit unless the vet tells you to.
Can I come to you at night?
No. At night and at weekends the regional emergency vet helps. Always call first so they know you're coming.
Does my pet need to fast before surgery?
Usually, yes. We tell you beforehand exactly when to stop feeding. Rabbits and rodents can often keep eating as normal.
Does my dog need a microchip?
Yes. In the Netherlands a puppy must be chipped and registered within seven weeks of birth. Moved or got a new phone number? Update your details in the database.
